On A Mission (34 photos)
Back in October 2006 I spent the day on a mission with a couple of friends, Adrian and Julian. Up for a very early start, the mission was to collect an engine for Adrian's Samba from Paul Utting. There was a quick road test with the engine in Paul's Bus and then engine out and loaded up. Down the M1 to London and over to VW Airfix who would install the motor. The kind of day that car guys have every weekend all over the world.

Enamore - London Fashion Week - Catwalk Show (55 photos)
You Had Me From Hello, the catwalk show by Enamore at London Fashion Week.
From the press release:
"The show was a cabaret event held at the prestigious Buddha Bar was styled by Jennifer Ambrose Bethania Matheus and Jacqui Toy as well as choreographed by Bethania Matheus
Far from the standard runway show, Enamore's 2010 catwalk was a fashion performance/striptease, featuring burlesque dancers and models selected for their boisterous personalities and striking natural attributes. With amazing burlesque performances from Fifi Fatale, Violet Crumble and Miss Dolly Rose, who could resist!
The show featured the Enamore 2010 lingerie collection designed by Jenny Ambrose and matching jewellery and accessoriess designed and hand made by Catarina Vassalo as well as a sneak peak at the Miss Toy for Enamore collection. Miss Toy is a sultry silk collection of come to bed ensembles with a fashion twist winking to the fantastical. The Miss Toy collection is set to come out before Christmas 2010.
This was also the launch of the cheeky nipple tassle and pasties range designed for Enamore by Alice Holloway. Holloway-Smith Femme studied jewellery at Central Saint Martins, and dressmaking in the backroom of a dance costume shop and can now turn any breast, boob, or bap in to a veritable feast for the eyes. Watch out for the first designs coming out on our website in time for Christmas 2009!
The venue décor was opulent, original and playful, with amber coloured lighting, rich mahogany furniture and luxurious fabric in lush reds and gold with a stunning set design by Tom Abel and Willow Hilson. The stage set combined with the fabulous soundtrack and the scene was set for guests to experience the sensual playful world of Enamore, where models danced, strutted and flirted their way down the winding stairs and across the centre catwalk.
The entire show has been captured on camera and a film will be released in the coming weeks.
Special thanks for our fabulous sponsors Perfekt, Fair Vodka and Buddha Bar.
Show makeup by Laura Tucker & Gosia with hair styled by Amanda Bowler, Emma Rees & Riccardo Mazzocco.
Our fabulous models included: Lilah, Umi, Hannah, Lucy, Solveig, Alice, Willow, Violet Crumble, Dolly Rose and Fifi Fatale.
Thanks to Mica from Agent for Change and Liz Parry PR for all your hard work to help make our show a great success!
Last but certainly not least thank you to the whole backstage team for all your hard work and to Kit Harrison for music!"

One of my favourite photography books is NY JS DB 62.
www.amazon.co.uk/David-Bailey-NY-JS-DB/dp/3...
In 1962 David Bailey convinced Vogue to send him and Jean Shrimpton to New York. Armed with his 35mm camera and no lighting they took to the streets and shot fashion wherever they wanted free from the constrains of a studio where most fashion shoots were held. I love the atmosphere of the shots and the fact that passers by are sometimes included. Some of the shots have been scanned into this Flickr Set (not by me)...

Today I met up with a Polish model called Malwina and we were inspired to create some similar shots in the streets of Croydon.

A New York Minute (343 photos)
From the book by Nick Grant available through Blurb:
www.blurb.com/bookstore/detail/333957
"Nick Grants’ book “New York Minute”: Is a snapshot of the life, the lives and the loves of New York City.
For those of you who have actually been and spent time in the city, then this book is a stunning reminder of the sights, the sounds, the smells and fusion of the people that make up New York. It is a melting pot, consisting of so many different types of people; their moods, their hopes, their visions, their way of work and their way of play. Of the various cultures, the unique street art, the designs of the buildings across the ages, all of these attributes and facets have been brought to life into sharp technicolour focus. These will hit your senses and drag you back to the wonders of this most amazing of cities.
For those of you who have never been, then rarely has the city of New York been captured with this attention to detail and then brought to life by the medium of photography. Viewing these pictures will grab your imagination, it will make you want to reach out and to touch, to feel the vibration of New York City, to immerse yourself into the mindset and the pace of the city. You will want to step into the things that remain uniquely New York."
I hope you have enjoyed seeing New York through my eyes. Living in London, UK I find New York to be the closest thing to home in the USA. The diversity and energy is infectious. I wanted the saturated colours to reflect the kaleidoscope of activity taking place in the street.
The photos in this book were taken during two trips to the USA during 2008. The first was made with a group of three friends to celebrate the fact that we have known each other for 25 years. This was a long weekend from the 10th to 14th April. A very busy but very enjoyable visit to the Big Apple.
Other photos were taken between 6th June and 21st June when I called into New York three times as part of a tour of the North West of America, including a trip over the Border to Canada. This was an awesome two week trip with my wife.
Of course this book would not exist without everyone who makes New York the awesome Mega City that it is. Those that keep the city going 24 hours a day. Those that bring their individuality to the streets. Those that carried on in the face of adversity.
This book is dedicated to the people of New York.
