Author: NickOne of my favourite photography books is NY JS DB 62. In 1962 David Bailey convinced Vogue to send him and Jean Shrimpton to New York. Armed with his 35mm camera and no lighting they took to the streets and shot fashion wherever they wanted free from the constrains of a studio where most fashion shoots were held. I love the atmosphere of the shots and the fact that passers by are sometimes included. Some of the shots have been scanned into this Flickr Set (not by me).
Yesterday I met up with a Polish model called Malwina Lasota and we were inspired to create some similar shots in the streets of Croydon. Check out the full Flickr set here or buy the Blurb book here.
