The Book

When I got my 57 Chevy I wanted this to be a fun car that I could get creative with, it was never going to be a 100 point resto. The next phase of creativity is complete today with the new headlining. I took down the fabric liner and covered the roof in damplifier to keep the noise down, then I painted the bit of roof on show black to tie in with the body and finally I have covered the roof in some of my favourite black and white photos. So next time your see the Chevy at a show check out the roof, you may find that you or your car are travelling with me all the time.

Went along to the NSRA Supernationals yesterday and it was an awesome day out. The weather was scorching and that always brings out the best cars. The show field was full before midday.

I met up with Knoxville Roxie the other day who I worked with on a couple of shoots for Custom Car. The purpose of the shoot was to get some shots of the ’57 Chevy as I hadn’t done a shoot with it. We got some fun shots in the hot weather. Check out the rest in the flickr set.

As usual Goodwood Festival of Speed was epic in just about every way. I was lucky enough to help get one of the cars to this years event, Lord March had been reading the feature I shot of Steve Withers 32 for Custom Car and decided he would love to have it at the Festival of Speed.  I was able to put Julius Thurgood in touch with Steve and the arrangements were made. Steve’s cars was part of the Cars and Songs line-up on the cricket pitch and a troop of dancers performed to the theme of each car. The theme for Steve’s car was Little Deuce Coupe by the Beach Boys.  Also at the show were some famous rodders with their cars. Jeff Beck brought his 32 Coupe, Billy Gibbons brought Cadzilla and Eric Clapton brought a Shoebox Ford. Carrying on the songs and cars theme, you’ll see that some of the shots are inspired by a ZZ Top song.
